Product risk & manufacturability assessment

Independent technical judgement, zero factory bias, over 20 years of China production floor experience.

Committing to tooling and full-scale production without assessing manufacturability first is one of the most common - and costly - mistakes in product development. Enjisen's product risk and manufacturability assessment gives decision-makers a clear, evidence-based view of technical and manufacturing risks before significant capital is deployed, so you can proceed with confidence or course-correct while it's still inexpensive to do so.

Scope of work

Technical risk assessment

We conduct a structured review of the technical risks inherent in your product design and development plan. It covers architecture choices, component dependencies, integration complexity and any technical assumptions that remain unvalidated at the point of assessment.

Manufacturing feasibility assessment

We evaluate whether your product can be reliably manufactured using available processes and facilities in China. And we review process capability, tolerance requirements, material processing constraints and the suitability of candidate manufacturing routes for your production volumes and quality targets.

Supply chain risk review

We assess supply chain vulnerability across your key components and materials by identifying single-source dependencies, long lead times, import restrictions, and substitution risks that could affect production continuity or cost stability.

Integration complexity analysis

For products combining mechanical, electrical and software elements, we assess the risks associated with system integration, including interface compatibility, assembly sequence dependencies and test coverage gaps that could cause quality or reliability failures at volume.

Process options and capability evaluation

Where manufacturing risks are identified, we evaluate alternative process options - comparing their cost implications, quality outcomes and feasibility within your timeline - to give you practical alternatives rather than just a risk register.

Costed Bill of Materials (BOM)

We produce a costed BOM (i.e. a full list of materials and components with estimated unit costs based on China-side pricing) that gives decision-makers a realistic picture of product cost at volume and enabling early identification of cost reduction opportunities.

High-level programme plan

We provide a high-level programme plan outlining the key phases, milestones, resource requirements and indicative timelines from current state to production launch. This gives you a credible basis for internal planning and budget approval.

Manufacturing feasibility report

All findings are consolidated into a clear manufacturability report - documenting process options, risk ratings, cost estimates and recommendations - structured for use in go/no-go decisions and investment approval processes.

This assessment is often conducted in parallel with or directly after a Technical Feasibility Study, and provides the manufacturing-specific detail needed to move confidently into NPI and Production Launch.
